Food delivery is part of daily life in Thailand—especially in Bangkok and tourist cities. Apps let you order from street-food vendors, local restaurants, cafés, and supermarkets with delivery to your hotel or condo.
You will usually need a Thai mobile number (or app-supported foreign number), mobile data or Wi‑Fi, and a payment method (cash on delivery, Thai debit/credit card, or linked e-wallet such as PromptPay on some apps).
Note: Foodpanda left the Thai market on 23 May 2025. The main services today are below.
Major food delivery apps
- GrabFood : Wide restaurant choice nationwide; often bundled with Grab ride-hailing in one app. English interface; cash or card.
- LINE MAN (Wongnai) : Very popular in Bangkok and major provinces; deep local restaurant listings. Also offers rides and messenger services in the same ecosystem.
- ShopeeFood: Strong promotions; good in cities where Shopee is active. Part of the Shopee super-app.
- Robinhood, FoodStory, and others: Smaller or restaurant-specific platforms in some areas.
Tips for tourists
- Pin your location carefully (hotels with multiple towers can confuse drivers).
- Use the in-app chat or call button if the menu is in Thai only; photos help.
- Check estimated delivery time during rain or rush hour—it can double.
- Allergies: note requests in English; for severe allergies, ordering in person may be safer.
